Jaisalmer to Bikaner
From Jaisalmer you’ll travel by private car for around seven hours north east to the red city of Bikaner, a desert city with a charming old centre crammed with 37 palaces, many Jain temples and a beautiful red sandstone fort. In the afternoon, you’ll take a guided tour to experience the highlights of the city, including the 16th century Junagarh Fort and the Ganga Golden Jubilee Museum.
Bikaner to Mandawa
This morning you’ll travel for around four hours to Shekhawati region, famous for its extravagantly decorated havelis built by the Marwari merchants. Your guide will take you around the havelis of Mandawa to explain the quirky paintings and decorations covering the walls, ceilings, pillars and galleries. The locals may be surprised to see you, as not many tourists venture this far. You’ll stay in a resort consisting of traditional clay huts clustered around a shaded courtyard, where the owner has worked hard to maintain the cultural heritage.
Mandawa to Jaipur
Today your driver will transfer you the four hours from Mandawa to the pink city of Jaipur, where you can continue your India adventures.
