Agra to Orchha
This morning, you’ll be transferred to Agra train station for your journey to Jhansi. When you arrive, you’ll be transferred the final half hour to Orchha, an enchanting town of just 9,000 residents and relatively free from the touts and beggars of the bigger cities. Sitting along the banks of the beautiful Betwa River, Orchha is famous for its breathtaking Ram Raja Temple, Chaturbhuj Temple, Lakshmi Narayan Temple and Orcha Fort with nightly sound and light show.
Khajuraho Temples excursion
This morning, you’ll be transferred four hours to Khajuraho to see the Kama Sutra temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temples are around 1,000 years old and they are still in incredibly good condition, even though there are only 22 of the original 85 temples left. A guide will take you through the western temples. It’s a true sport spotting the erotic carvings of the Karma Sutra, while some of them cannot be missed, others are more elusive and you’ll need the experienced eyes of your guide to help locate them.
Khajuraho Departure / onto Varanasi
This morning your trip comes to an end and you’ll set off for your next destination.
If continuing to Varanasi, the most economical option is by train, in which we’ll organise an early morning transfer from Khajuraho to Satna where you’ll board your eight hour train to Varanasi, arriving in the late afternoon.
If this option is a bit lengthy for you, we can organise a 45 minute domestic flight from Khajuraho to Varanasi, just let us know your preference.
