Jaipur to Ranthambore National Park
Today, you’ll travel from Jaipur to Sawai Madhopur, near the entrance of Ranthambore. Here, you’ll stay in a luxury safari tent with attached bathroom (no A/C) within a rustic resort set amongst landscaped gardens. If you’re travelling during May and June (hot season), you’ll stay in a room with A/C at a safari hotel. Towards evening, you’ll visit Ranthambore Fort; full of chattering monkeys and vibrant green parrots where you can listen for the alarm calls of the gazelles and sambar deer, meaning a tiger may be lurking nearby.
Ranthambore National Park Safaris
This morning at sunrise, you’ll set off in a canter (truck-like 20 seater vehicle) on your first Ranthambore safari. If you would like to upgrade to a jeep safari (usually six or so seats), just let your Travel Specialist know. After lunch back at the resort, you’ll have some free time before your evening game drive. You’ll have a 50/50 chance per safari of spotting a wild tiger (although this varies according to the season), but you’ll certainly encounter gazelles, crocodiles, sambar deer, monkeys and all sorts of other wildlife.
Ranthambore National Park Departure
Your Ranthambore National Park trip ends today after breakfast. You’ll depart at mid-morning and be taken back to Jaipur, arriving in the early evening. Alternatively, if continuing on to our Wonders of the World trip to experience the Taj Mahal, you’ll continue straight on to Agra.
