Days 1-3

Easy Going Hanoi

Hanoi is the bustling capital of Vietnam, a city rich with culture and architecture with influences from the Chinese and French. Hanoi’s Old Quarter is the epicentre of the city where the narrow streets are alive with merchants selling their wares, mopeds zipping past, bakeries and markets. You’ll stay in a cosy hotel right in the heart of the Old Quarter.

Sapa Valley

Days 3-8

Sapa Train and Trekking

Walk through the terraced valleys which are home to many hill tribes, the scenery is captivating with lush rice paddies stepping down the mountainsides. You’ll spend one night with a local hill tribe family, giving you a genuine glimpse into life in the mountains. The following day you’ll head back to Sapa and spend the night in a comfortable hotel in Sapa town. An ideal experience for travellers who are able to walk 10-15km in a day and wish to get off the beaten track.

Days 8-10

Ky Son Homestay In Style

Experience life in the countryside, surrounded by fields of green and water buffalo. You’ll be transferred from your hotel in Hanoi to an upper class homestay in Ky Son (drive time around two hours). Meals are included during your stay, starting with a cooking class for lunch just after arriving. Over the next couple of days you’ll explore the surrounding villages by bike and on foot with your guide, learning about everyday life of this farming community. Visit a bee house, help plow the fields and shop at the village market. You’ll also experience some local wellness treatments, including a hand massage, refreshing steam bath with fragrant herbs and traditional Yijin Jing exercises.

Days 10-11

Anchors Away in Halong Bay

The majestic archipelago of Halong Bay lies off the north east coast of Vietnam. The region is composed of almost 3,000 limestone islands that rise dramatically from the sea. You’ll spend two days lazily drifting around the bay on a traditional junk boat, spending the night on board. You’ll anchor near the islands to visit caves filled with stalagmites and stalactites and swim in the refreshing waters.

Days 11-13

Back in Hanoi

You’ll have a night in Hanoi to wind down after all your countryside adventures. On your last day, you’ll make your own way to the airport for your flight home.
