Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels
When you arrive in Ho Chi Minh City you’ll be transferred to your accommodation, a comfortable and centrally located hotel in District One, complete with air-conditioning. The hotel is located near Tham Street, Saigon’s frenetic market area with dozens of cosy little restaurants, street vendors and small souvenir shops.
Today you will take a guided small group excursion to the Cu Chi Tunnels. You’ll be given the opportunity to climb into the tunnels and experience their eerie atmosphere first hand. If you don’t want to go into the tunnels, no worries, there’s plenty to see above ground.
In the afternoon you’ll return to the city with the afternoon free to explore at your own pace.
The next two days are dedicated to the waterways of the Mekong Delta, the backbone of the south Vietnam economy. As a guided small group, you’ll travel by boat visiting chaotic floating markets, view day to day life on the banks of the Mekong and stop in at a couple of local businesses producing rice and coconut products. In the late afternoon you’ll arrive in Can Tho, a small town where you’ll stay in a simple but comfortable hotel for the night.
Mekong Delta to Ho Chi Minh City & Departure
It’s an early start this morning; you’ll head to the pier and board the local boat that will take you to the largest of the floating markets on the Mekong, Cai Rang. Sail amidst boats peddling their wares to get an up close experience. After the market visit you’ll return to your hotel, where your air-conditioned minibus will be waiting to take you back to Ho Chi Minh City for one more night.
